How to know if a Motor or Master Window Switch is bad.

Here is a short cut that saves the hassle of removing the interior door panel for testing the motor without tools.  :) Due to the demand of current, the fluctuation can be seen by looking for decreased strength of the lights,.

What I do is: with the key on and engine on, turn the interior and headlights on.

Look for a slight dimming of the interior/dome/dash lights when the power window switch is pushed. If there is a slight flickering or dimming of any of the lights, we know tht the power window switch is working. This tells us that the power window motor is bad if the lights do not dim or flicker. This can be tried with one of the power windows that is working to see how it affects the interior lights.

If there is no change in the intensity of the lights when trying this with the power window that is not working, we can determine that window switch is bad.
